Voter Registration
Check your registration for the next election
The deadline for new registrations and registration transfers from another Georgia county for the November 3, 2026 General Election was October 5, 2026. Check Georgia My Voter Page even if you voted in the last election. Follow its prompts to locate your record. If information is missing or incorrect, contact the county elections office promptly.
The official registration record is maintained by the voter registration office in your county of residence. My Voter Page provides access to information drawn from the statewide database.
You can still apply to register for future elections. According to the Bleckley County Board of Elections and Registration Office, there is no deadline for an address change within the county or a name change. For this election, vote under your existing registration if the change has not been made. October 5 also applied to transferring registration between counties. Contact the Office with questions about your record.

Requirements to register in Georgia
To register, you must be a U.S. citizen, a legal resident of Georgia and the county where you register, and at least 17½ years old. You must be 18 to vote. You may not register while serving a felony sentence or if a court has ruled you mentally incompetent.
How to register
- Online: Use Georgia Online Voter Registration. Online registration requires a valid Georgia DDS driver’s license or identification card.
- By mail: Download a registration application through the online registration site, complete and sign it, and follow the mailing instructions. Follow the form’s identification requirements, including those for first-time mail registrants.
- At the county office: Ask for registration assistance at the Courthouse Annex, 106 E. Cherry Street, Cochran.
- Through DDS: Use voter registration offered when applying for or renewing a Georgia driver’s license or ID. Find offices and hours in the DDS location directory.
Submitting an application does not itself confirm registration. Check its approval and your precinct information afterward. You do not need your precinct card to vote.

Ways to Vote
Eligible registered voters can vote by absentee ballot, vote early in person, or vote at their assigned polling location on Election Day.
Voting by absentee ballot
You do not need an excuse to request an absentee ballot in Georgia.
Apply for a ballot
Use the official absentee application portal or download an application from the Secretary of State voting guide.
In Bleckley County, submit your application in person at the elections office, by fax to 478-298-6830, by email to [email protected], or online through My Voter Page. The state also provides a mail submission option; follow its instructions or contact the Office about mailing. Follow the portal’s current instructions; the online process may require printing, signing in ink, and uploading the signed application.
For this election, the application must be received by October 23, 2026. Mailing it on that date is not enough. Apply early to allow time for delivery and correction of any problems.
Provide the required voter details, election date November 3, 2026, and identification information. A general election does not require choosing a party ballot. Follow all required signature and identification instructions on the application.
Receive and complete your ballot
After approval, the county mails your ballot to the address allowed by your application. Follow the enclosed marking, envelope, identification, and signature instructions. Complete the outer oath envelope as directed. If your ballot has not arrived, contact the county office.
Return and track your ballot
Return it by mail or deliver it to the elections office at the Courthouse Annex, 106 E. Cherry Street. During open office hours, you may place it in the box inside the office or give it to an employee. On Election Day, ballots must also be delivered to the elections office, not the Jaycee Barn polling location. For ordinary domestic absentee voting, the Office must receive your ballot by 7 p.m. November 3; a postmark alone does not meet that deadline.
The Office advises that family members and caregivers may deliver a ballot for a voter unable to make the trip. Contact the Office about your circumstances and who may deliver it for you.
Check your application and ballot status on My Voter Page. If a problem is reported, contact the county promptly about correcting it. If you requested a ballot but need to vote in person instead, ask poll officials how to cancel or surrender it. Do not cast a second ballot.
Military and overseas voters should use the Secretary of State voting guide to reach the separate military and overseas guidance; their procedures can differ.

Election Day voting
The county’s announced Election Day location is the Jaycee Barn, 290 Ash Street, Cochran, GA 31014. Polls are open 7 a.m.–7 p.m. Tuesday, November 3. If you are in line by 7 p.m., you may vote. Bring accepted photo ID. If you are not voting in Bleckley County, check your assigned location on My Voter Page.
Bleckley County has one polling precinct. When there is a school board election, use the line for the school board district shown in your registration record. If you have moved within the county but have not changed your registration, vote in the district where you are registered, not the district where you now live. There are no school board races in this election. If poll officials cannot verify your eligibility, ask about a provisional ballot and any follow-up required.

Identification for Voting
Accepted in-person identification includes:
- A valid state or federal government-issued photo ID, including a free Georgia voter ID.
- A Georgia driver’s license, even if expired.
- A student ID from an eligible Georgia public college or university.
- A qualifying government employee photo ID.
- A valid U.S. passport.
- A valid U.S. military photo ID.
- A valid tribal photo ID.
The Secretary of State ID requirements page supplies the full conditions and eligible student-ID list. A precinct card is not a substitute for photo ID.
Free voter ID cards are available through county registrars and DDS; check the required documents before visiting. For absentee applications, use your Georgia driver’s license or state ID number, or the alternative documents specified by the official application. The acceptable absentee documents differ from the in-person list.
Accessible Voting and Assistance
Ask poll workers for accessible voting equipment or assistance. Georgia equipment offers audio through headsets and controls for voters with disabilities. If you need another person to help you vote, tell the poll worker; restrictions apply to who may assist. Assistance with registration and absentee applications must also follow the form’s instructions.
For equipment, assistance, and priority-access details, see Voting Assistance for People with Disabilities or contact the county office before your visit.
